3 Reasons Cayman Leads Wealth Mobility in 2026

Cayman Islands wealth mobility has received significant international recognition in the Henley Private Wealth Migration Report 2026, reinforcing Cayman’s position as one of the world’s most attractive jurisdictions for globally mobile individuals and families.

Henley & Partners’ new Global Wealth Mobility Framework gives the Cayman Islands a Wealth Mobility Competitiveness Score of 74.3. Among the scores published in its Global Wealth Mobility Leaders data, Cayman sits behind only Singapore and New Zealand and ahead of established wealth centres including Switzerland, Hong Kong and Monaco.

It also makes Cayman the highest-scoring jurisdiction in the Western Hemisphere.

For those of us who live and work here, the findings reflect something we already know: Cayman offers far more than beautiful beaches and an exceptional lifestyle. It combines political stability, legal certainty, international connectivity and a sophisticated financial services sector with a welcoming community and an enviable quality of life.

Here are three reasons Cayman continues to stand out.

1. Stability and legal certainty

In an increasingly uncertain world, stability has become one of the most important considerations for internationally mobile families.

The Cayman Islands is a British Overseas Territory with a well-established legal system based on English common law. Its strong institutions, political stability and respected regulatory environment have helped Cayman build lasting confidence among international businesses, investors and professional advisers.

For families considering where to live, invest or establish a business, predictability matters. They want to know that the jurisdiction they select offers clear rules, reliable institutions and an environment in which long-term decisions can be made with confidence.

Cayman’s ability to provide that certainty is one of its greatest strengths.

2. A globally respected financial centre

Cayman has developed one of the world’s most sophisticated financial services industries, supported by experienced professionals working across banking, investment funds, insurance, trusts, corporate services, wealth management, law and accounting.

The Islands’ tax-neutral framework also allows investors and businesses from different countries to operate without an additional layer of Cayman taxation. This does not remove an individual’s tax obligations in their home country, but it makes Cayman an efficient and internationally connected jurisdiction for cross-border business and investment.

Cayman’s financial expertise is complemented by modern infrastructure, direct air connections to major international cities and a business community accustomed to working across multiple markets and time zones.

It is a combination that allows a relatively small jurisdiction to play a remarkably important role in the global economy.

3. An exceptional place to live

Global mobility decisions are not based on financial considerations alone. Families are also looking at personal safety, education, healthcare, connectivity, community and overall quality of life.

This is where Cayman offers something particularly special.

Residents enjoy a warm climate, beautiful natural surroundings and a diverse international community. Cayman is also known for its excellent restaurants, outdoor lifestyle, strong schools and welcoming culture.

There is a genuine sense of community here, whether people are raising a family, building a business, beginning a new chapter or enjoying retirement. Cayman feels international without losing the warmth and character that make island life so appealing.

A more strategic approach to global mobility

Henley & Partners’ 2026 report reflects a broader change in how internationally mobile individuals and families are planning for the future.

Rather than relying entirely on one country, more people are considering how different jurisdictions can provide greater resilience, opportunity and flexibility. Decisions about residence, business interests, investments and long-term family planning are increasingly being viewed as part of a wider international strategy.

The report’s Global Wealth Mobility Framework examines 12 areas, including tax treatment, rule of law, quality of life, investor access, geopolitical resilience, capital mobility and international connectivity.

Henley notes that the scores are directional indicators of structural competitiveness. They are not intended to represent actual millionaire migration figures or a definitive global league table. Nevertheless, Cayman’s strong performance across the framework provides meaningful independent recognition of the qualities that have made the Islands so successful.

Cayman continues to stand out

The latest Cayman Islands wealth mobility results confirm that the jurisdiction offers a rare combination: a globally respected business environment, long-term stability and an outstanding place to call home.

As global uncertainty encourages more individuals and families to look beyond a single jurisdiction, Cayman is exceptionally well positioned to offer security, opportunity and quality of life.
