Grand Cayman Marriott offers an exciting refresh! Starting June ‘23
Whenever I walk into the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort lobby, I always feel welcome and completely relaxed. They seemed to have managed the perfect ambience for both families and a casual business meeting. And we at Navigate use them for both! They have always valued Cayman’s resident community and have therefore remained a popular choice for staycaytions, dining, and events. But let’s address the elephant in the room – no beach.
This wasn’t always the case, and with Cayman’s weather systems, it may indeed return, but for now, the property is bound to the whims of Mother Nature.
This is why I was delighted to meet with Glenn Fernandes (Sales Manager and great guy) last week and have him share with me the plans for the Summer House rooms renovation. They are gorg! Keeping with the Summer House rebrand (no more Beach Resort), they have designed “a fresh and contemporary look using colors from Cayman’s natural environment” along with beautiful hardwood floors, bigger beds, 65-inch TVs, new family rooms, new bathrooms etc. In short, they are creating the vacation environment that doesn’t rely on the beach to make it a vacation. And of course, the beach isn’t that much of a trek, if that’s your thing.
Renovations begin in June with an intended completion date of the end of this year, but rather cleverly they have organized the renovation to be one floor at a time, with a floor buffer in between staying guests and the work being completed. So, there will be less rooms available, but there should be minimum disruption to those staying there.
